Golf was first played in Crows Nest in 1933 in the old showgrounds, the club was formed in 1934 and then moved to Mr Bert Hudsons property, which is where the course is today. The first club house was built in 1937 and was replaced in 1951 along with major changes to the course layout.
The original club house was sold for 46 Pounds, 10 Shillings and two pence and is still in use today as the Cub scouts hut on Creek Street, Crows Nest.
In 1968 126 acres of land including the course was purchased by the club for $8,000.
Our objectives
- Foster, encourage, promote, support and manage the game of golf;
- Abide by the rules regulating the conduct of golf;
- Foster a safe, fair and inclusive environment and encourage a sense of community spirit and social interaction amongst members and visitors;
- Establish and maintain facilities and amenities for the benefit, social comfort and advancement of the club, its members and visitors;
- Affiliate with Golf Australia and such other bodies as the club deems fit;
- Align with current Golf Australia strategies;
- Abide by Golf Australia’s gender equality principles;
- Adopt and abide by the provisions of the Golf Australia Member Protection Policy;
- Do such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of any or all of these objects.
